Yes. iCare PEMF is safe for daily use and often more effective when used consistently over time. We’ll give you recommendations based on your condition and goals, but most patients use it anywhere from 3 to 7 days per week. I personally use it every day.
Yes, there are a few situations where we don’t recommend using it:
If you’re pregnant, we hold off. There’s just not enough research yet, and we always play it safe.
If you have a pacemaker, defibrillator, cochlear implant, or any electronic implant, this isn’t for you. The frequencies could interfere with those devices.
If you currently have active cancer, we don’t use PEMF. There’s concern it could stimulate certain types of growth, and we’re not taking that chance.
If you have a history of seizures or epilepsy, it’s a conversation. While we’ve never had anyone react, there are a few reports suggesting PEMF could be a trigger in rare cases.
If you’ve had an organ transplant, we’d want to talk first. PEMF can affect immune function, and we never want to interfere with anti-rejection medications.
As always, we’ll go over your history during your consultation and make sure it’s safe for you. If it’s not a fit, we’ll find something that is.
For some patients, yes. For others, it’s best used alongside other therapies. During your consult, we’ll help you build a plan that works best for your body and schedule. There are times I recommend this as a replacement to in office treatments for chronic conditions, for overall cost effectiveness.
No, iCare PEMF is not currently covered by insurance. However, many times, it’s covered by your HSA.
